Sergeant Major Jeremy Coleman Sims, 44 who lived in Clarksville, Tennessee passed away serving his country overseas on May 20, 2024 at Osan Airforce Base in South Korea. He was born on September 28, 1979 in Cleveland, Mississippi to Beth Boswell and James Coleman Sims. He married the love of his life, Harmony Johnson Sims in Memphis, Tennessee on January 14, 2006. He was an amazing father to his three wonderful children, Kiley, Cole, and Connor. He gained his Bachelor of Science in Management in 2020 from Colorado Technical University. He also received an Executive Certificate in Business Management and Strategic Leadership from the Owen Graduate School of Management at Vanderbilt University. He served his country for 20 years, first in the Mississippi National Guard and then later went active duty in the Army in 2006. He completed the Sergeant Major Academy in June of 2023 and was pinned in August of 2023. During his 20 years of service to his country, he deployed multiple times in support of Operation Joint Forge, Operation Iraqi Freedom, and Operation Enduring Freedom. He loved serving his country and was proud to be a part of the military. He was a member of the Freemasons, O.D. Lodge 33 in Oxford, Mississippi. He enjoyed being outdoors, fishing, hiking, camping, and kayaking. He loved his family and spending time with them, especially traveling and going on cruises. He is survived by his wife, Harmony Johnson Sims, Children: Kiley Mackenzie Sims - 18, Leo Coleman "Cole" Sims- 16, and Connor Reed Sims- 12. His parents, Beth Boswell and James Coleman Sims (Becky). Siblings: sister, Summer Lovett (John). Grandmother: Cookie Boswell. Mother in Law: Joyce Johnson. He had 2 nieces and 2 nephews and several aunts and uncles. He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Louis Coleman (Vira) Sims, and Mickey Boswell. Father in Law: Leo Kleb Johnson A funeral service will be held at Murphy Funeral Home of Arlington on Friday, October 18, 2024 from 11:30 A.M. to 1:30 P.M. followed by a graveside service at Arlington National Cemetery at 3:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, please make donations in Jeremy's name to either the Wounded Warrior Foundation or the Ronald McDonald house since both of these were dear to his heart.
