Jeanne Frances (Naugle) Mahan 100, of Arlington, Virginia, passed away on June 30, 2022. Jeanne was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Her first job was as a comptometer operator for Wilson Sporting Goods Co. Shortly after the attack on Pearl Harbor, Jeanne left her civilian job and joined the Navy WAVES.
In the WAVES, she was assigned to the payroll office at the Naval Training Station, Treasure Island, California. She served 2½ years to December 1945 receiving her honorable discharge in San Francisco.
Jeanne married Harold Mahan who was also stationed on the Island. After the war, they settle in San Francisco and raised two children. In 1964 she went to work for the Jefferson Elementary School District in Daly City, CA. Starting as a school secretary, she later changed over to a payroll assignment from which she retired in 1995.
She loved gardening, line dancing and games on the computer.
Jeanne was predeceased by her husband, Harold, her son, Roger, and her daughter, Marilyn. She leaves a number of nieces and nephews and many friends in California and Virginia.
Jeanne will be buried with her husband at the Golden Gate National Cemetery in San Bruno, CA.
