Jim worked in several corporate positions until ultimately pursuing a career in publishing with Public Utilities Reports, Inc. where he began working in 1965. He also served on many area boards including the Washington Legal Committee of the American Business Press, The American Heart Association (Virginia Chapter), and was Chairman of the Utilities Publication Committee. He also served as Commodore of the National Potomac Yacht Club.
Jim loved traveling, gardening, entertaining his many friends, and boating on the Potomac River and Chesapeake Bay. He loved his family, especially his nine grandchildren who gave him so much joy in his retirement.
