On September 13, 2014 in Arlington, VA passed away peacefully at home to be with Our Lord. Dear husband for 47 years of Marianne Brink Duffy and father to Anne (Arlington).
Frank served for nearly 30 years as an officer in the U.S. Army on both active duty and Reserves. He retired in 2006 after nearly 40 years of service in the U.S. government, including at the Departments of the Navy, Agriculture and most recently, Transportation.
He graduated from the University of Scranton (PA) in 1955 as a member of the first Army ROTC class to be commissioned. Later, he earned a Master’s Degree from American University.
Frank, known to his family and friends as “Buddy,” love playing the piano, listening to jazz music, watching football and, after retirement, worked tirelessly on his lawn!
Frank is survived by a sister, Ann Marie Duffy Lee (Warrick E. Lee, Jr.) of Basking Ridge, NJ as well as several nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. He was preceded in death by parents Dr. & Mrs. George R. Duffy of Carbondale, PA and a brother, Rev. G. Ralph Duffy of Rockville, MD. Visitation will be at Murphy Funeral Home, 4510 Wilson Blvd. Arlington, VA 22203 on Thursday, September 18 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM. Funeral Service on Friday, September 19 at 1:30 PM at St. Thomas More Cathedral 3901 N. Cathedral Lane, Arlington, VA 22203.
