On Monday, October 6, 2014, Dorothy A. Rowan of Arlington, Virginia, died at the age of 96. A native Washingtonian, she was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, William C. Rowan. She is survived by her five children: Michael (Janet); Kathleen, Teresa (William) Bennett, Daniel (Susan) and Christine (Michael) Flowers. Also survived by three grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Relatives and friends may call on Thursday, October 9, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Murphy Funeral Home, 4510 Wilson Boulevard, Arlington. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, October 10 at 2:30 p.m. at St. Ann’s Catholic Church, 5300 N. 10th Street, Arlington, Virginia.
