Christopher Albert Piepenbring 58 of Arlington, Virginia, and Maui, Hawaii, died at Virginia Hospital Center on September 22, 2024, after collapsing suddenly at a birthday celebration for one of his many friends. He was born on August 10, 1966 in Baltimore, Maryland of Gary Piepenbring and Diane Henley Piepenbring. He graduated from Perry Hall High School at age 16, and then matriculated to the University of Maryland where he graduated with a degree in computer science.
He was a very skilled software engineer and the Founder and Principal of CAPability Plus Solutions which did software engineering for the Air Force, the Department of Defense, multiple other government agencies, as well as a variety of other private entities. He was beloved by all who knew him and was well known for his great intelligence and problem solving abilities, as well as his compassion, sensitivity, willingness to help others, sense of humor, and his love and enthusiasm for life, while always smiling. A common sentiment from his friends is that he always made you feel special when you spoke with him, and he was the epitome of the phrase “it’s not what you do in life, but how you make people feel.”
He is survived by his son, Nicholas Craig Piepenbring; his mother, Diane H Peters; step-father, Stephen P Peters, MD; ex-wife, Elizabeth Piepenbring; Aunt and Uncle, Linda and Warren Henley; and his significant other, Debbie Drucker. A celebration of life will be held on November 3, 2024, beginning at 4:30 pm at the Lyon Park Community Center in Arlington, Virginia. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that contributions be made to the Arlington Soccer Association where his son participated and he coached.
