Blaine M. Williams of Arlington, VA died Friday, January 4, 2013. He was born July 14, 1923, eldest son of Harley and Nora Williams. Blaine served with the U.S. Navy for thirty-six months in the Pacific theatre during World War II and retired from the Naval Reserves after the war. He then went to work for the Bureau of Engraving and Printing and retired from this second career after thirty-one years. He enjoyed his life at home and visiting with neighbors and friends who shared his interest in stories and the history of Arlington County. Blaine was a Third Degree Mason and served as a volunteer for Meals on Wheels. He was also very active in his church at Ft. Myer Memorial Chapel.
He is survived by his beloved wife of seventy years, Minnie Dotson Williams, his brothers, Hobert and Donald Williams and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sisters; Edith Hackney, Fay Brown and Lucille Parker and brothers; Dennis and Foy Williams.
