Willie Dalton Shelby was born March 25, 1933 in Manchester, TX to Willie Monroe Shelby and Dorothy Etola Davis Shelby, farmers. After serving in the Army, Willie moved to Arlington and married Patricia Privett on Jan.15, 1960, and happily married for 49 years. Together they had two children, Patricia Gayle and Dalton Glenn.
He worked for LTV for 10 years and was employed by General Motors for 30 years. He was an avid farmer. Gardening was his passion. He was an Army Veteran, Mason, Realtor, Bee Keeper, Writer and Author. He loved country/ western dancing and Country music.
Willie is preceded in death by his parents, Willie and Dorothy Shelby; sister, Dorothy Tolar and wife, Patricia Shelby. He is survived by his daughter, Gayle Bratcher and husband Charlie; son, Dalton G. Shelby and wife, Kim; grandchildren Ryann, Stephanie, Kim, James; great grandchildren, LoreLye, Maggie and Andrew; brothers, C.R.(Jan) and Dean(Frankie); sister, Connie (Terry) and a host of nieces and nephews.
