Wesley Hicks

Services for Wesley Lloyd Hicks of Alvarado, Texas will be 3:00p.m. Thursday, April 17, 2014 at Moore Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Mik Alexander officiating. Burial will follow in Moore Memorial Gardens. Mr. Hicks passed from this life on April 10, 2014 at age 75 in Fort Worth. The family will receive friends for visitation Wednesday from 5:00 to 7:00 at the funeral home.

Wesley was born October 12, 1938 in Chicago Illinois, to Frank Hicks and Ann Kotulek Hicks. He joined the U.S. Army on February 19, 1957 after graduating high school. He served until he was honorably discharged on February 18, 1963. Wesley married Sharon Owen in 1961 in Cleveland, Ohio. Mr. Hicks was employed as a truck driver, but his true love was tending to his land, his cattle and working on anything with an engine.

Mr. Hicks was preceded in death by his parents, wife of 45 years, Sharon Owen Hicks (July 19, 2006), one son Keith Hicks and one brother Jerry Hicks.

Survivors include three sons; Kevin Hicks, Phil Hicks, and Adam Hicks, four grandchildren; Tiffany Hicks (husband Blake Russell), Sean Hicks (wife Shelley), Richard Daugherty, Cash Bellew (wife Suzin);six great-grandchildren; Kali, Ryder, Brooke, Reagan, Jax and Landyn; and one brother, Don Hicks(wife Betty).
