Wallace Thomas Tyson Jr.

Service: 2 p.m. Thursday at St. Matthew Catholic Church, 2021 New York Ave., Arlington. Cremation interment: at a later date. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Moore Funeral Home, 1219 N. Davis Drive, Arlington, with rosary at 7 p.m.

Wallace was born Oct. 24, 1962, in Denison to Wallace and Mary Tyson. He traveled the world and lived abroad as a child as his father was in the United States Air Force. He lived in several countries, including Turkey, Thailand and the Philippines. He was president of his eighth-grade class. He graduated from James Bowie High School in 1981. He was an accomplished running back and track star while in high school. He also excelled in choir and was president of DECA. He worked 15 years with Taco Bell as a restaurant general manager. The remainder of his career was in retail sales, a profession he was born for. He turned every customer into a friend. He had a passion for honesty and integrity with everyone he served.

Wallace met his future wife, Kristi, while working at Taco Bell and was married 19 years. Together they had three beautiful children whom Wallace dedicated and devoted his life to. He recently returned to college, attending Texas Woman's University in hopes to inspire his children and teach them that anything is possible. Wallace had many nicknames, from his childhood name of "June June" to his most recent nickname of "Wally Gator." Wallace was everyone's friend. He always had a smile on his face and a great sense of humor. Wallace was loved by all and will truly be missed.

Wallace was preceded in death by his father, Wallace Thomas Tyson Sr.; and a sister, Mary Margaret Tyson-Conley and her husband, Troy Conley.

Survivors: Wife, Kristi Tyson; son, Cameron Thomas Tyson; daughters, Carrissa Paige Tyson and Candace Nicole Tyson; mother, Mary Ann Tyson; sisters, Sandra Marie Tyson, Barbara Ann Conley (Sean) and Joyce Linda Tyson; brother-in-law, Bito Irie; sister-in-law, Cynthia Sanchez (Luis); several nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles; and numerous friends.
