Funeral: 2 p.m. Monday at Fielder Road Baptist Church. Interment: 10 a.m. Tuesday in Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery. Visitation: The family will receive friends 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Memorials: In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
Virginia was born Jan. 10, 1934, in Nashville, Ark., to Lloyd A. Nowell and Virginia Bridgeman Nowell. She graduated from Nashville High School in 1951, attended Baylor University and graduated from the University of Arkansas in 1955 with a B.S.E. in music education. She was a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma, Sigma Alpha Iota, Collegiate Singers, and various musical groups.
Virginia taught public school music in Nashville, Ark., and Texarkana, Ark. She worked for the Rehabilitation of the Blind in Arkansas, and retired from Texas Commission for the Blind. She taught private piano lessons from 1959 to 2009.
Preceding her in death were her parents and her husband, Don Hackworth.
Survivors: Sons, Victor L. Nutt III and wife, Carol Nutt, of Sherwood, Ark., and Stephen A. Nutt of Dallas; grandchildren, Lee Nutt (Megan) of Jonesboro, Ark., Natalie Carroll (Ryan) of Little Rock, Ark., Melissa Van Scyoc (Cody) of Sherwood, Ark., and Christopher Nutt of Sherwood, Ark.
