Veronica Joy Milligan, born on May 11, 1948, to Charles and Maxine Clark of Lakeland, Florida, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 8, 2023, at the age of 75. Joy was a beloved individual whose life was brimming with warmth, love, and cherished memories, marked by the affection she shared with her family and the passions she pursued.
A devoted mother to four sons - Patrick, Scott, Chad, and Chris - Joy's boundless love and care will forever echo in the hearts of those she leaves behind.
Among her greatest enjoyments was exploring the world through travel, with a special affinity for the enchanting landscapes of Ireland. Her adventurous spirit led her to discover new horizons, including memorable journeys to India and Costa Rica.
In quieter moments, Joy found solace and creativity in her pursuits. A talented baker, she delighted in sharing her creations with friends and family. Her green thumb was evident in the beauty of her flourishing gardens. Crafting was another avenue for her artistic expression, and her creations exuded the love she invested in every detail. Joy also possessed an unwavering passion for reading, leaving an indelible mark on those fortunate enough to share in her literary enthusiasm. She also had a keen eye for photography, capturing moments of beauty and emotion with her camera lens.
Joy's love extended beyond humans to her faithful companions, Daisy and Cooper, her cherished labradoodles, whose companionship provided her with both comfort and delight.
Professionally, Joy's journey was equally remarkable. She contributed her skills and dedication to companies like Watkins and Maersk SeaLand, leaving an indelible mark on the business world. In her final years, she found fulfillment as a florist at Market Street, brightening lives with her arrangements and spreading beauty through her work.
In addition to the aforementioned information, Joy was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Maxine Clark, as well as her brothers Duey and Lonnie Clark. She has now reunited with them in eternal peace.
Joy is survived by her loving family: Patrick and Kim Milligan, Scott Milligan, Chad and Elaine Milligan, and Chris Milligan. Her legacy also lives on through her cherished grandchildren: Savannah LaHood, Brennan Milligan, Abigail Milligan, Jack Milligan, Lucy Milligan, Audrey Milligan, Jessica Milligan, and Elijah Milligan. Joy’s loving spirit and wisdom will continue to shape their lives in beautiful ways.
Joy’s memory is further carried by her sisters, Joyce Erwin and Pamela Clark, who shared a special bond of sisterhood and companionship.
Joy lived a life of love, adventure, creativity, and compassion. She touched the lives of many with her warmth, humor, and generosity. As we bid farewell, let us also celebrate the remarkable life she led and the profound impact she made on all who had the privilege of sharing in her journey.
