ARLINGTON -- The Rev. Vernon L. Walker Sr. was promoted from death unto life Friday, April 30, 2010, at a local hospital after a year-long battle with cancer.
Funeral: 11 a.m. Tuesday at The Wisdom Center in Fort Worth. Interment will be in Moore Memorial Gardens. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Vernon was a preacher of the Word of God and is now at rest with his Lord and Savior.
Survivors: Those left behind to cherish his memories and celebrate his life are his wife of 50 years, Patsy Rash Walker; children, Vernon Walker Jr. and his wife, Debbie, Melisa Thornton and her husband, Brad, and the Rev. Timothy Walker and his wife, Sa-Leigh; two sisters; and one brother. Vernon was beloved "PawPaw" to eight grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.
