Velta Fern Vick

Funeral: 10 a.m. Friday at Woods Chapel Baptist Church, Arlington. Interment: 3 p.m. Friday in Live Oak Cemetery, Youngsport.

Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Moore Funeral Home-Bowen Chapel.

Honorary pallbearers: Aaron Franklin, Brendan Keener, Seth Lewis, Kenny Martin, Ronnie Martin and Gary Strickland. Velta was born in Paris, Ark., on July 1, 1937. She graduated from Killeen High School and later married Willard "PeeWee" Vick, the love of her life, on Oct. 29, 1955. Velta worked for Scholastic Book Fairs before retiring in 1997.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Willard "PeeWee" Vick; and her parents, Leon and Lela Fields.

Survivors: Left behind to cherish her memory are her children, Jack and Heidi Vick of Fort Worth, Jim Vick of Dallas, Robert Vick of Arlington, Raymond and Barbara Vick of Irving; grandchildren, Erin and Aaron Franklin, Jessica and Seth Lewis, Sarah and Brendan Keener, Isabella Vick, Camille Vick, Robert Vick and Sophia Vick; and great-grandsons, Anderson and EJ Franklin, and Caleb, Eli and Noah Lewis.
