Stephen ‘Steve’ Michael Cofer

Funeral: 10 a. m. Wednesday, January 15, at Moore Funeral Home Chapel in Arlington. Visitation with the family will be 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, January 14, at Moore Funeral Home.

Memorials: In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Harwood Terrace Baptist Church at 3420 Brown Trail, Bedford, TX 76021 for the Back Pack Ministry providing school supplies and food for under-privileged children.

He was born in Big Spring, TX on June 19, 1951 to Oliver Cofer and Bonnie Burleson Cofer.

Steve graduated from Big Spring High School in 1969, received associate degree from Howard County Junior College in 1971 and went on to attend University of Texas at Arlington.

After various jobs through school and college, Steve began working as an auto mechanic, but soon found his niche in sales. He was a successful salesman in many industries including Morgan Spas and most recently Easy Care Pool Products. Over the years Steve’s success was recognized by numerous awards. As recently as December he received three top Easy Care sales awards for high sales of various products.

Steve married Dana Lockhart February 14, 2006. Together they enjoyed time at Dana’s cabin on Lake Texoma.

Steve was an avid golfer and had a lifelong passion for fishing instilled by his grandfathers.

Survivors: Wife, Dana Lockhart; Mother, Bonnie Cofer; Sister, Vicki Trostle and husband, Wade; nephew, David Trostle; and niece, Katherine Lack and husband, Matt.
