Ruth was born in Hedley on Aug. 3, 1918, to the Rev. Cal C. Wright and Vera Clements Wright. She was one of seven children and grew up living in numerous Methodist church parsonages throughout the High Plains of West Texas where her father served as pastor of several Methodist churches. Ruth was a student at McMurry College in Abilene in 1937 when she met her husband of 60 years, Pat L. Davis; he preceded her in death in 1997. Ruth and Pat lived in Fort Worth for many years and then lived in Arlington. Ruth was devoted to her family, who will miss her warm smile, laughter and loving personality. At the time of her death, Ruth was a resident of Emeritus Senior Living - Preston Road facility in Dallas where she had many happy days, well cared for by the staff at Emeritus.
Survivors: Her son, Dallas attorney William P. Davis and wife, Sheila Davis; grandchildren, Ashley Davis Bush and husband, Daniel Bush, of Epping, N.H., Rebecca Davis Harris and husband, Phil Harris, of Nashville, Tenn., and Taylor Davis of Dallas; great-grandchildren, Elizabeth Prend, Channing Prend, Victoria Prend, William Brown and Robert Brown; sister, Betty Neely of San Antonio; and numerous nieces and nephews.
