Ruben was born October 7, 1932 in Colson, La., the son of Wilburn and Doris Smith.
Survivors: Loving wife of 55 years, Adele Smith; sons, Alan Smith of Arlington, David Smith of Hurst; daughter, Lori Ann Vandiver of Arlington; 6 grandsons; 2 great granddaughters; brother, Bobby Smith and wife Rose Ann of Corpus Christi.
