Rosalie Florence Pierson, age 90 of Arlington, passed away peacefully at her home on April 23rd, 2024 with her family at her side. She was born on December 8th, 1933 in Macdona, Texas. Rosalie was married to Richard Keith Pierson, Sr., for 66 years before his passing February 13th, 2017.
Rosalie married Richard July 16th, 1950 and therein began her journey as a Military spouse packing and moving to whichever Air Force Base her husband was transferred to, which included Texas, Okinawa, Georgia, Oklahoma, South Carolina and Japan until Richard retired in 1964 and they moved to Arlington, Texas. In 1969 Rosalie and her husband moved their family to Denison, Texas where they opened the Sonic Drive In, spending long hard hours making sure their restaurant was the best it could be. The Drive In was a popular hangout for the kids of Denison where Dick and Rosalie looked after them as if they were their own. In her spare time Rosalie enjoyed competitive bowling not only in mixed league with her husband but traveling with her ladies team to State competitions. They sold the Sonic in 1980 and moved back to Arlington where she enjoyed working in her flower gardens.
Rosalie to say the least was an avid sports fan,,,,, She loved the Rangers, the Mavericks, the Stars and the Cowboys all of at one time or another was with her husband a season ticket holder. She was beyond thrilled and overjoyed that her beloved Texas Rangers won the World Series in 2023. She also enjoyed watching golf and cheering for Jordan Spieth, but also hoping to catch her son Rich, “ Rico” on TV making a ruling for the PGA TOUR.
Rosalie is survived by her children Kathy Felix and husband George, Rich Pierson Jr. and wife Ann, Linda Pierson, and Debbie Coates and husband Kevin. Rosalie was preceded in death by her parents, sisters Agnes and Irene and brothers Herbert, Arthur and Wilbert.
