Ronald Lester Smith

Service: 10 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 1, at Moore Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Parkdale Cemetery, Arlington. No public visitation is planned.

Ronald Lester Smith was born March 2, 1949, in Alhambra, Calif., to Sam Powell and Eva Jeter Powell. He was a graduate of Arlington High School and received his Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of Texas at Arlington. He married Jeri Mahan Smith on April 3, 1971. Ron served in the National Guard and worked in sales.

Ron was a member of the Church of Christ where he was baptized at 12 years old. His best days were spent on the lake, fishing, hunting, skiing down a mountain, playing softball with friends, and spending time with his grandkids.

Survivors: Ronald is survived by his parents, Sam and Eva Powell; daughter, Sara Elizabeth Brennan and her husband, Shaun Brannan; son, Samuel Edward Smith; sisters, Cynthia Elizabeth Wood and Sharlene Williams; grandchildren, Sydney Elizabeth Smith, Garrett Mahan Smith, Townes Edward Brennan and River James Brennan; and numerous nieces and nephews.
