Ronney is survived by his father, LaGrand and Bobbye Smith, brothers David and James Smith, his wife, Susan, his five children, Daniel, Kevin, Kristin, Amber, and Michael, seven grandchildren, and three great grandchildren.
Ron worked hard his entire life at a variety of jobs including Lone Star Gas, Eckerd, and was the proud Meter Service Manager for the City of Arlington Water Department. He was a man that loved his food- well done steak drowned in A1 sauce, chocolate milkshakes, gyros, no-bake peanut butter cookies, and Lemonheads. He preferred Waffle House to Olive Garden and would sometimes make a cake just for the batter. He was a fan of Elton John, the Beatles, the Monkeys, Michael Jackson, and Weird Al.
He enjoyed watching the Three Stooges, MASH, Ancient Aliens, Spongebob, and Jerry Springer. Ron was a crafty man, very handy, and could build things or MacGyver them to work. He was very silly, the epitome of dad jokes and playfulness, and could do a great Goofy impression. He knew how to talk to God and made sure his kids did too.
Ron wishes to be remembered only with laughter and joy. His family will honor his wishes by scattering his remains in the Galveston Bay. Although he is finally able to relax, his family knows he is celebrating being free from the confines of his body.
