Richard “Dick” Keith Pierson, Sr., age 94 of Arlington, passed away on February 13, 2017 with his family at his side. He was born on January 7, 1923 in Woodward, OK, the son of R.H. Pierson and Kathryn Six Pierson. Richard was married to Rosalie Bourquin and they celebrated 66 years of marriage before his passing.
Richard served in the United States Military following high school and remained in the military until his retirement as Master Sergeant in the United States Air Force. In his spare time, Richard was a sports enthusiast who not only played various sports, but helped to coach, referee, and mentor others to their success in them. He was an avid supporter of the Texas Rangers, Cowboys, and Dallas Stars. He also enjoyed golfing and bowling with his wife, and was a fan of John Wayne and western movies. His greatest joy in life was his family, all of whom will miss him greatly, along with his great sense of humor.
Richard is survived by his wife, Rosalie and their children Kathy Felix and husband George, Rich Pierson Jr. and wife Ann, Linda Pierson, and Debbie Coates and husband Kevin. Richard was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Jay and John, and sister Rosalie.
Visitation will be Tuesday, February 21 from 9:30-10:30am, with funeral service beginning at 10:30am at Moore Bowen Road Funeral Home, Arlington, Texas. Interment will follow at the Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery, with full military honors. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be offered in memory of Master Sergeant Richard K.
