Reba Lou (Bonner) Renfro, age 91 went to her Lord and Father May 31, 2024. Reba was born in Sweetwater, Texas, December 25, 1932 and graduated from Sweetwater High School in 1950. She was the daughter of Storey and Fanny Bonner of Sweetwater. She married W.R. (Ray) Renfro in 1951 and they began their lives together.
Ray and Reba moved to Johnson Station/Arlington, TX to support the opening of the new G.M. Plant in 1953. Reba was active in the Johnson Station school PTA, Hillcrest and Park Row Churches of Christ, and the surrounding community. She made friends wherever she went and throughout her life, Reba enjoyed games of any sort whether it was bowling, playing 42 or Catch Phrase with the kids. She was the “Bingo Queen” at her retirement apartment and Mansfield Medical Lodge.
Reba was preceded in death by her parents, husband Ray, her brothers and sisters Earl Bonner, Clyde Bonner, Margaret Willis, JoAnn Leonard, Lila Cox, Royce Bonner, and her grandson Toby Cai L’Roy. She is survived by her children Samuel Jackson Renfro and his wife Donna, Barbara Kay Renfro L’Roy and her husband Elmer and Linda Raye Renfro Long and her husband Craig. Also surviving are grandchildren David Renfro, Laura Bell and husband Micah Bell, Julie Renfro, Rhys L’Roy and wife Tiffany L’Roy, Sara Long, Siân L’Roy, and Jack Long and wife Sarah Long. Great grandchildren include Zachary Bell, Brendan Bell, William Bell and Elizabeth L’Roy and great granddaughter Sutten Bell. There are numerous cousins, nieces and nephews of the Bonner, Nunn and Renfro (clans) families.
A memorial service is planned for Reba at Moore Bowen Funeral Home, 4216 Bowen Road, Arlington, TX 76016 on June 12, 2024 at 11AM. Burial services to follow at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery where she will rest with Ray.
The family wishes to thank Joye Holmes who was like another daughter, Dr. Travis Brown for his devotion to Reba when he did not have to, the residents and staff of Mansfield Medical Lodge for their tolerance, love and care and Candace, Sue and Lori of Heart to Heart Hospice for their compassion and guidance.
A funeral service for Reba will be held Wednesday, June 12, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Moore Bowen Road Funeral Home, 4216 South Bowen Road, Arlington, TX 76016. Following the funeral service will be a committal service at 1:30 PM at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery, 2000 Mountain Creek Pkwy, Dallas, TX 75211.
