Randy passed away due to complications from Renal Cell Carcinoma and Myasthenia Gravis on March 23, 2022 at 1:18AM after spending the last 14 months of his life in the hospital.
He is preceded in death (on his paternal side) by his Dad, Benny Watkins, Grandparents, Jack and Corrine Blake Watkins, Aunts Martha Jean, Dorothy Elizabeth, Marilyn Dianne, Linda Kay, Uncles Johnny Ray Watkins and David Beard.
He is preceded in death (his maternal side) by Grandparents Edgar Bodkins and Worthlene Hargrove Bodkins, Uncle James Bodkins, Aunt Sherrie Hill and Cousin Sheryl who nicknamed him Bo-bo and lovingly referred to him as her big brother.
He is survived by his Wife, Misty Thornton, Son Randall Watkins, Jr, Brother, Robert Charles Watkins, Step-Sisters, Angie Waite and Teresa Miller, Nephew, Dylan Watkins, Nieces Dayna Thornton & Danielle Huffman, Mom, Elizabeth Watkins, and Stepdad, Tony Farris. And, too many “favorite” Cousins to list.
Randy graduated from Sam Houston High School in Arlington, Tx. Class of 1987. If there was ever a constant in his life it was how much he hated school. From the first day until he walked across that stage.
Randy loved his family, including his 4 dogs, traveling, especially the ocean and enjoyed many cruises with his beloved wife Misty, often sharing with family and friends. They particularly loved the many islands they visited.
He enjoyed many genres of music but Randy, family and friends really enjoyed listening to son Randall play the guitar. Randy was a gifted artist also.
He also enjoyed old cars, anything that went fast, and loved most sports especially soccer and football. He was a die hard Texas Longhorn & Pittsburgh Steelers fan.
Randy went to work for Vought Aircraft after he graduated until his early retirement. He worked 20 plus years as a Heat Treat Operator.
Pastor Kevin McDavid will officiate the Celebration of his life Monday, April 4th at 1pm for visitation and Memorial Services will begin at 2pm. The ceremony will be held at Moore’s Funeral Home 1219 N. Davis Dr. Arlington TX 76012.
