Mom was born in Saltillo, Texas, on May 15, 1925, to Glen and Esther Forgy. She was raised in East Texas and eventually ended up with her family in Rotan, Texas. She met a handsome man, Elvis Thomas, the love of her life, and they married on July 15, 1945. In the early 1950’s they moved to the Arlington area. They raised three wonderful sons. Our mom was a true homemaker. Rachel was a long time member of Hillcrest Park Baptist Church. She devoted many years in the church nursery which she enjoyed very much. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister, Faye; and brother, Morris. Also many other relatives. Rachel is survived by her loving husband, Elvis, of 67 years; son, Kenneth Wayne, and wife, Cindi; son, Ronald Gene, and wife, Joanne; son, Weldon Ray, and wife, Kimberly. She also leaves behind 7 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly; and also many dear friends that will miss her also. She is with God now and well! In lieu of flowers, the family ask that donations be made in her name to the Community Hospice of Texas. The family would also like to express their sincere thanks to Janice, TJ, BC, May, Veronica and the Community Hospice Crisis Care Team for all of their help, support, and love during this difficult time. They took excellent care of our mom.
