Phillip "Pete" Thomas Anderson

Phillip “Pete” Thomas Anderson, born in El Paso, TX 11/02/1945 and was taken from this earth on August 20, 2021 in Shreveport, LA at the age of 75. Pete is predeceased by his father, Linden Thomas Anderson of El Paso, TX, mother, Flora Carolin Bias, of Muskogee, OK and step-father, Donald Ray Teschendorf of Liberty, TX.

Services will be September 10, 2021 the Moore Bowen Road Funeral home in Arlington, TX. Visitation will start at 11:00 am followed by the celebration of life at 12:00 pm in the chapel. Graveside services will be held at the Dallas National Cemetery at 2:30 pm. We will have a procession from the funeral home to the cemetery, or you can just go directly to the cemetery.

Pete was married to Rowena Anderson for 54 years. They celebrated their marriage August 18 since he insisted it was the 18th, although the official date was August 19, 1967. They had a love that stood the test of time.

Pete loved to do leatherwork, and was in the process of handing that talent down to his grandson, Logan. One of the last things he made was a custom gun belt and holster. Pete liked to hunt, fish, read, camp, mow grass, and spend time with his wife, kids and grandkids. He was an outgoing person and you could say he never met a stranger. Pete was also a Mason and a Shriner. He joined the Masonic Lodge in Sonora, TX in 1984, he was a member of the Dee Ora Lodge No. 715 for 28 years.

He had a long and diverse career and loved to work. He was a hard worker and took every job seriously. He joined the Air Force when he was 17 years old and served his country proudly in Vietnam. He was proud of his service and he always said that every young man ought to serve so he would grow up. Pete drove trucks for 7 years, he was fireman for the city of El Paso, was a volunteer fireman in Monahans, TX, worked for Burlington Resources for 24 years, worked as a prison guard in two different prisons in Texas for 2 years, and then went back to the oilfield with Shell Oil before he retired in 2011 in Mansfield, LA.

Pete is survived by his wife Rowena of Arlington; his 2 sons, Ronald Craig Anderson and his wife Velma, Gregory Phillip Anderson and his wife Stephanie; his 4 grandchildren; Phillip Dean Anderson, and his wife Hannah, Dustin Craig Anderson and his girlfriend Kelly, Kaitlyn Michelle Anderson, and Logan Edward Anderson; and 2 great-grand sons, Owen Howell Dean Anderson and Austin Ronald Glen Anderson; his 2 sisters, Linda Carol Lewis, Sandra (Sandy) Jean Zimmerman; his brother Thomas (Tommy) Linden Anderson.
