VELMA PAULINE NEFF passed away on Monday, September 24, 2012. She was born in Duke, Oklahoma on February 9, 1916 to Samuel Harvey Walker and Lela Hall Walker. She was raised in Delhi, Oklahoma and attended Southwestern Oklahoma State University in Weatherford, Oklahoma. She eventually went back to college, and at forty years of age, got a degree in elementary education. She was rewarded with a teaching position in the Fort Worth Independent School District, and loved every minute of it.
Pauline and Lee loved to travel world-wide, and even enjoyed seeing the U.S. via their travel trailer. Lee had been in post-war Germany, and wanted to take Pauline to see where he had been while she stayed home in Fort Worth with their daughter. Many trips were taken to Winslow, AZ to catch and fry trout with her only sister and her family. She was an accomplished crochet artist and loved all arts and crafts. Lee loved a good dessert at every evening meal, and she was always eager to please with her home-made delights.
Pauline is preceded in death by her husband of over 50 years, Lee Weldon Neff; her parents, Samuel and Lela Walker; her step- father; and her sister Esta Lee Cunningham. She is survived by her daughter, Joy Neff Blanton of Katy, Texas; her son, Joe Weldon Neff of Fort Worth, Texas; her granddaughter Laurie Lee Pleasant of Houston, Texas; her great-granddaughter Kennedy Leigh Wolf of Houston, Texas; and other family members.
Visitation will be at 9:00 a.m. at Moore Memorial Gardens, 1219 North Davis Drive, Arlington, TX. The graveside service will follow at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Arthritis Association or the charity of your choice.
