Paul Stern

Paul Stern, age 89 of Dallas, TX, passed away April 5, 2017. He was born on August 20, 1927 in Brooklyn, NY to Dr. Abraham and Claire Stern. He was married to Phyllis Mallen of Worcester, MA in 1957, and moved to Texas a year later. He married Mary Beth Okerlund (nee Wollenhaupt) in 1983. He proudly served in the Merchant Marines, and graduated from New York University with a Bachelors, and attended NYU Business School. He was a retail manager in women’s apparel for two decades before becoming a manufacturer’s representative, operating his own showroom in the Dallas Apparel Mart. After retiring from apparel, he enjoyed part-time work in furniture sales at JCPenney. He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Mary Beth Stern; son Michael Stern and his wife Debra Stern of Arlington, MA; and son Lawrence Stern of Austin, TX. Additionally, he had two step-children, Jann Okerlund and John Okerlund, both of Dallas. He was a loving Grandfather to Joshua and Hannah Stern. Funeral services will be 10:00 am, Monday, April 10, 2017 at Moore Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Moore Memorial Gardens.
