Nell was born on April 24, 1922 in Winters, Texas. She was one of six children and the daughter of Alvah Lee and Gussie Lou Roe. As a young woman, she fell in love and married Leonard Raymond Rogers with whom she settled in Grand Prairie, Texas.
Nell was a female pioneer in the business world for the Arlington area during the early 1970’s. She started her own business, M & M Bookkeeping, and managed her business for many years. Nell was a wonderful cook, making holiday visits a special treat for her family. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother always there to support her family with a generous heart, caring words and wisdom. In her later years, Nell supported various ministries and was fondly referred to as “Mama Bear” by youths for her kind heart and listening ear. Nell will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Nell is survived by her husband of 60 years, Ray Rogers; sons: Eddie Rogers and wife, Gayle, of Allen, Texas and Gregg Rogers and wife, Barbara, of Grand Prairie, Texas; daughter, Carla Brown and husband, Bob, of Arlington, Texas; grandchildren: Kristopher, Jill, Darla, Darenda, Phillip, Robby, and LeFon; and great-grandson, Preston.
