Mike was an Airman 1st Class in the United States Airforce. He graduated from University of Texas at Arlington in 1972 with a bachelor of Sociology.
His greatest joy was his family. He cherished his lovely wife, Gay, who was his constant companion and confidante through every joy and challenge. Together, they raised a family that was the center of Mike’s universe. He took immense pride in his children, celebrated their achievements, and delighted in every moment spent with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Whether attending school events, family gatherings, or simply sharing a laugh, Mike’s presence was a constant source of warmth and happiness.
Mike’s passion for personal training was a defining aspect of his life. After retiring from the Texas Workforce Commission with 21 years of service, he continued his education receiving a certificate from the American Council on Exercise in 2001. He was dedicated not only to his own fitness but also to helping others achieve their health and fitness goals. His enthusiasm for personal training extended beyond the gym, as he motivated and inspired those around him to live healthier, more active lives.
Mike’s legacy is one of love, compassion, dedication, and extraordinary courtesy. He leaves behind a family who will always remember his gentle spirit and boundless support. He is survived by his lovely wife Gay Wallace, children Christy Penwarden, Chris Wallace, Heath Penwarden, Brian Wallace, along with ten grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and all of whom will forever hold his memory close to their hearts.
A celebration of Mike’s life will be held Friday, September 20, 2024 at 6:00 pm at Moore Funeral Home, 1219 North Davis Drive, Arlington, TX 76012, Preceded by a visitation from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM.
Mike Wallace’s presence may be gone, but the impact of his love, his kindness, and his passion for life will continue to inspire and uplift those who knew him.
