Michael Paul Monroe, 45, of Austin, Texas, passed away on December 21, 2024, surrounded by the love of family and friends. Born on October 3, 1979, in Arlington, Texas, Michael was the beloved son of Gerald Monroe and Barbara Santagata. He graduated from South Grand Prairie High School in 1998 and went on to study air conditioning and refrigeration. Michael worked tirelessly to provide for the person he cherished most—his daughter, Isabella.
Michael was known for his uniquely vibrant personality. His way of connecting with others was as magnetic as it was unpredictable, blending humor, honesty, and a candid charm that often left people smiling, laughing, and occasionally shaking their heads. Beneath this bold exterior was a deeply compassionate soul, whose kindness and positivity were felt by everyone he met. Michael had an uncanny ability to lift spirits, share a laugh, and make those around him feel valued and loved.
Michael’s legacy is one of humor, love, and resilience. Michael brought light to the lives of those fortunate enough to know him. He leaves behind a lasting impression of generosity, warmth, and an unshakable devotion to his family.
Michael is survived by his daughter, Isabella Monroe (12); his mother, Barbara Santagata; his father, Gerald W. Monroe; and his brother, Gerald G. Monroe.
He will be deeply missed, but his spirit lives on in the memories he created and the love he shared.
A visitation for Michael will be held Saturday, January 4, 2025 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Moore Funeral Home, 1219 North Davis Drive, Texas 76012.
