Michael David Dunn

October 28, 1944 – March 10, 2024

Arlington, Texas – Michael David Dunn passed away Sunday, March 10, 2024 at his home in Arlington, Texas. His wife, daughter and son were with him as he peacefully passed away.

Mike was an amazing man, husband, father, son, brother, business leader, entrepreneur, teacher and scholar. He had extensive knowledge of many subjects related to business, accounting, and mathematics. He took every opportunity to share his experiences and knowledge with students, friends, and family. Upon “semi-retiring” he secured a teaching certificate and taught mathematics and coached the accounting team at Carter Riverside High School. He then took on the role of substitute teacher, working full time to cover teachers throughout the district, at all grade levels. In addition, he provided tutoring services to a variety of students, from grammar school through those in various master’s programs.

Michael was born in Chicago, Illinois where he, his parents and brother lived surrounded by his many cousins and other extended family members. He grew up loving the Chicago Cubs while excelling in school. Michael graduated from Illinois Institute of Technology where he spent several memorable years with his Tau Epsilon Phi Fraternity Brothers, many of whom he loved seeing and speaking with over the years.

Michael was married to his wife Linda for over 32 years. Mike was cared for at home by his wife during his illness, which was facilitated by the outstanding and compassionate care of Robert W. Israel, MD their one-of-a-kind primary care physician of over 20 years. Community Hospice/Healthcare was instrumental in helping and providing supportive care.

Michael is survived by his 3 children and their families: Brian (Denise), Rhoda, and Jennifer (Justin). He is also survived by his 2 stepchildren Kimber and James (Gina). He will be missed so much by each of them as well as his 4 grandchildren: Jordanna, Audrey, Bailey, and Bryson.

Services will be held at 11:00am on Monday, March 25, 2024, at Moore Funeral Home & Memorial Gardens, 1219 Davis Dr., Arlington, TX 76012.
