Mary Elizabeth Lane

Pinky grew up in Dallas, Tx and attended Sunset High School. She attended Arlington State College and later the University of Texas at Arlington where she received a BA in English and later an MA in English.

It was at Arlington State College that she met her future husband Robert A. (Bobby) Lane. They married in 1954 and celebrated their 50th anniversary in 2004. They had three children Robert Allen Lane Jr, Richard (Dick) Keith Lane and Jennifer Lane Heuer.

She was a loving and supportive mother to all of her children and their spouses and later to her grandchildren whom she cherished and adored.

Pinky was a Senior English teacher at Sam Houston High School in Arlington, Texas from 1969 until her retirement in 1996. She especially loved teaching Shakespeare to her students. She was a prolific reader for her entire life.

She was preceded in death by her husband Robert A. Lane and her daughter Jennifer Lane Heuer.

Survivors: Her son Robert Lane Jr, his wife Sherry and their son Robert Ivan (Robbie); Richard (Dick) Lane, his wife Lisa; Son in law Kent Heuer and his children Hannah and Robert Andrew, her brother Archiebald Ross and family from Colorado, her sister Denis Brown and family from Colorado and brother Jim Ross from Ohio.
