Graveside service: 3:30 p.m. Saturday in Moore Memorial Gardens in Arlington. Open visitation: noon to 8 p.m. Friday at Moore Funeral Home in Arlington.
Martha was born in Oak Cliff on Aug. 26, 1927, to Martha Hoover Thompson and Ross Vernon Thompson. She was raised in Anthony, N.M., and attended school in El Paso, where she graduated from the Radford School for Girls in 1946. She went on to attend New Mexico State University, where she pursued a degree in English and writing. Martha was devoted member of St. Alban's Episcopal Church in Arlington. She worked at First Baptist Church of Arlington's Mother's Day Out program where she touched the lives of those she worked with and the children she cared for. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Martha was a loving, caring, kind, generous, spirited woman; she was never without a joke, a laugh or a smile. She was a woman full of life and always lived life to the fullest. She touched the lives of those around her and will forever live in our hearts.
She was preceded in death by her mother and father; her husband, Robert M. White II; and her sister, Betty Irene Scott.
Survivors: Children, Betty Campbell, Robert White III and James White; granddaughters, Martha Campbell and Irene Campbell; and numerous other family and friends.
