Martha Joan Edmonson

Martha Joan Edmonson of Arlington, Texas passed away May 24, 2023. She is preceded in death by her parents, Floy and Monard Dillon and her husband, Rev. Alvis Edmonson. Joan was born in Caddo Mills, Texas on July 10, 1933. Joan graduated from Ladonia High School in Ladonia, Texas in 1950. She was married to Rev. Alvis Edmonson on January 3, 1987. Joan was in bookkeeping and retired from Joe Hoppe and Company in Dallas.

She is survived by her sisters, Gussie Cook of Grand Prairie, Texas, Bobbie Miller and her husband Bill of Sherman, Texas and Patricia Chadwick of Grand Prairie, Texas, her step children, Rev. Mike Edmonson and his wife Elizabeth of Sanctuary, Texas, Dana and her husband Rev. Jim Lang of Garrett, Texas, and Bryan and Leigh of Burleson, Texas, nephew, James Cook and wife Sharla of Mansfield, Texas, nieces Vicki Wade of Garland, Texas, Angela and husband Mike Frie of Grand Prairie, Texas, Sherri and husband Roland Estrada of Collinsville, Texas, Lisa Posey of Irving, Texas, and Traci Chiles of Garland, Texas, four great nieces, 8 great nephews, and many step grandchildren and great grandchildren.

A visitation for Martha will be held Thursday, June 1, 2023 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Moore Bowen Road Funeral Home, 4216 South Bowen Road, Arlington, TX 76016.

A funeral service will occur Friday, June 2, 2023 at 10:00 AM at Heritage Baptist Church, 5100 Parliament Dr., Arlington, TX 76017.

A graveside service will occur Friday, June 2, 2023 at 2:00 PM at Grove Hill Memorial Park, 3920 Samuell Blvd, Dallas, TX 75228.
