Loyd “Papaw” Louis Cassity was born July 28, 1944 in Fort Worth, Texas to Jesse Harrell Cassity and Zela Faye (Emery) Cassity. Loyd passed away on October 15, 2021 at the age of 77.
Loyd worked as both a welder and electrician before retiring to build his home. He liked to spend his time in retirement on DIY home projects, tinkering around in his shop listening to a beat up old radio and would never change the station (no matter how much we complained) claiming “Patsy Cline never made a bad song!”
Loyd is survived by his son and daughter-in-law David and Rhoda Cassity, his daughter and son-in-law Dee and James Warner, his daughter Shelly Cassity, and daughter and son-in-law Kelly and Jason Boren, along with many grandchildren and great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, Jesse and Zela Cassity, wife Barbara (Henry) Cassity, daughter Jannet Cassity, and daughter-in-law Christina Cassity.
A memorial will take place on October 29, 2021 – time and place to be determined
