On January 11, 2024, Louise Gray left her earthly home for her heavenly one at the sweet age of 95. Born September 10, 1928, in Southgate, California to Ernest and Doris Ahlin, she later made her way to Texas (1952) to attend nursing school. During that period, an injury brought her to the ER where she met the love of her life. Young Jack Gray repaired her foot and stole her heart. They were married for 63 years and are now reunited. Besides the five children, they raised, and while Jack grew his anesthesia practice, Lou was involved in her Methodist church, PTA, cheering at sports games, Arlington Women’s club (60 years), Encore, and Bible Study Fellowship. She was a music lover and travel enthusiast, a model homemaker, a licensed pilot, and a powder puff derby racer!!! She lived by hunter Thompson’s words, “Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well-preserved body, but rather skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming “Wow! What a Ride!” She is remembered as a gracious lady, kind and compassionate with a loving and vibrant spirit. Lou was preceded in death by her husband, Jack, two of her children, Allen and Patricia, and a grandson, Bhrett. She will be missed by her three children Gary, Paul, and Lisa along with 7 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, and many friends and family. Her legacy will go on forever....
