Larry Leonard Von Wald

Larry grew up in the 50’s and 60’s in rural America where he loved to compete in wrestling, basketball, baseball, and football. He attended the University of Northern Iowa and received a Bachelor of Arts in Geography, class of 1970. Later on that year Larry was drafted into the Vietnam War where he earned the rank of Private First Class in the Army Reserve Component. After receiving an honorable discharge, he took a job that placed him in Shreveport, LA where he attended Louisiana State University to earn a Master of Business Administration. He moved to Arlington where he picked up several lucrative managerial positions in the DFW Metroplex.

He is survived by son, Eric von Wald and wife Lydia, granddaughter, Isabella von Wald (Plano); daughter, Emily von Wald (New Orleans); brothers Jim von Wald (Mason City) and Steven von Wald (North Richland Hills); and sister, Gloria Billings (Mason City).

Visitation will be from 6-8:00pm, September 26, 2016 at Moore Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be 10:00am, September 27, 2016 at First United Methodist Church of Arlington, 313 N. Center, Arlington, TX 76011.
