Kim was born May 5, 1939 in Himeji, Japan. She was raised in Pusan, South Korea. In 1963 she immigrated to the United States, and became an American citizen. She and her husband, Bill, raised three children: one son and two daughters. They traveled the world from California, Germany, New Mexico, Virginia, and Texas.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Souza.
She is survived by a brother, Young Chong Bong from Jeju do, South Korea.
She is survived by three children: a son and two daughters.
Her oldest is a son, James (Jim) Michael Souza from Houston, Texas and his fiancé, Genevieve. Jim has three daughters: Daeshawn, Finae, and Kimberly.
Her oldest daughter is Diane Souza Huffines from Hewitt, Texas, and her fiancé, Nicholas. Diane has two sons: Bryan and Alex.
Her youngest child is daughter Sherry Lynn DeCovich, and husband, Guy. Sherry has two sons and one daughter: Garrett, Sydney, and Mitchell.
Kim is also survived by nine great-grandchildren.
Kim was very active in the Korean American Baptist Church, and well known for her faith in Jesus. Known for her generous nature, she is aptly described as “an Angel with a loud voice.”
