Kenneth “Ken” Lee Robertson passed Thursday October 26, 2017 at 46 years of age. Kenneth was born July 9, 1971 in Fort Worth, TX. Kenneth is preceded by his father, Herbert “Robbie” Robertson and mother, Helen Robertson as well as survived by his brothers John and Jimmy; nephews Logan and Colby; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and a large family of friends.
At a few weeks old, Kenneth and his family moved into their home on Poly Webb Rd. Growing up, his parents instilled the values of god, family and fellow man. Jewels of life he embraced, highly regarded and carried with him at his core.
Spending time with Kenneth talking about his life as a kid, you shortly knew he revered his childhood. He would reflect on things the family would do with a warm smile. When his eyes danced and the Cheshire grin came, you knew a tale of his or John’s mischief was coming. He loved to spend time with Dad learning how to work on cars or motors of any kind and fix things around the house just as much as he loved spending time learning his way around a recipe and the kitchen with Mom. Kenneth appreciated these gifts and was always grateful to his parents for nurturing his natural talents with mechanics, technology and cooking. He knew the parts of his parents that made him whole…his keen intelligence and sharp cunning wit was Dad; his loyal, loving nature and wide-open heart was Mom. As a son, he understood just how much of a blessing his parents were and always credited them for a wonderful childhood.
As young man, Kenneth enjoyed life by putting the lessons Mom and Dad taught him to use with his friends. If a friend needed to work on their truck, Kenneth was there. If a friend needed an ear, he was there. His personal ethics were as ever present as were his jokes and pranks. One did not spend time with Kenneth and come away without a direct hit or an impish trap lying in wait for discovery… if you were lucky you may have gotten a hint by the twinkle in his eyes or maybe the slight smirk on his face or a giggle as he made his exit.
His passion for people, service and a good meal led him to the restaurant industry as a career. With the support of his family and friends, a young Kenneth ventured to own his own business, Mama’s Pizza. An experience that solidified his passions, path and prepared him to excel. His journey into the restaurant business took him to other endeavors with Boston Market, Spring Creek BBQ and ultimately, No Frills Grill.
Long before No Frills filled the role of work place, it was the backdrop for many significant events, celebrations and phases of Kenneth’s life. Many long-standing friendships, relationships and partnerships originated here. The owners, staff and many patrons are his family…the place itself, his second home.
A memorial service for Kenneth will be held Friday, November 3, 2017 at 1:00 PM at Moore Funeral Home, Arlington, Texas.
