It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Kenneth Glenn Conley on January 12, 2023. Ken was born in Cleburne, Texas on September 26, 1933, the son of Gould Conley and Beatrice Black Conley. He was the younger brother of Leon Conley, who predeceased him.
Ken was a devoted husband and father. He was married to the love of his life, Mary Ann Conley for 41 years. Together they shared seven children, William Keith Conley (Brenda), Roger Kevin Conley (Peggy Baldwin), Robert David Curbo, Stephen Kent Conley (Maria), Thomas Michael Curbo (Gina), Catherine Ann Ross (Rodney, deceased), and Paul Steven Curbo (Jill). Ken was also a loving grandfather to Kris Conley, Kyle Conley, Jennifer Brown, Kaycee Bennett, Koree Neff, Kristin Curbo, Colin Curbo-Coplan, Chase Curbo, Coalman Ross, Ellie Curbo and Alexa Curbo and great-grandfather to many great-grandchildren, who will all miss him dearly.
Ken was a man of many passions. He never missed a chance to sleep on the porch when a Texas storm was rolling through. He was an avid square dancer and loved dancing in general. He was also an accomplished bowler and enjoyed competing in local tournaments. Ken was a dedicated fan of the University of Texas Longhorns and wore some form of UT apparel on most days. He couldn’t resist a challenging puzzle or a piece of candy and loved a good joke. He enjoyed telling stories of his youth, his colorful time in the army, and his work.
Ken will be remembered for his kindness, his wink, his sense of humor, his love of family, his creativity & ingenuity, and his not-so-secret stash of sweets. He was a true original and will be greatly missed by all who knew him. He had a unique perspective on life and never met a stranger. He was able to find joy and humor in the little things which made any time spent with him special.
A funeral service will be held at Moore Bowen Road Funeral Home in Arlington, TX on Saturday, February 4 at 2 p.m. in honor of Ken's life. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society. Many thanks to Maria Conley who served as Ken’s devoted and loving medical advocate and to Ken’s best friend, Denny Kelly, for his years of friendship and care for Ken and his family.
