

Funeral: 11 a.m. Monday at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 5819 W. Pleasant Ridge Road, Arlington. Interment: Noon Saturday, Jan. 29, in Resthaven Memorial Park in Midland. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Memorials: In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
Jeanne was born Oct. 26, 1933, in Dallas to Kathleen Patricia Hosack Jones and Charles Bell Jones Jr., M.D. The family later moved to Wellington where she was raised. Jeanne attended Sacred Heart Academy High School in Springfield, Ill., and then Saint Joseph Hospital School of Nursing in Memphis, Tenn., where she became a registered nurse. She worked at Saint Paul's Hospital in Dallas for a short time before relocating to Midland where she met and married the love of her life, Gilbert Joseph Gilles Jr. They were married from Jan. 15, 1955, until his death in 1994. She was a lifelong member of St. Anne's Catholic Church.
Jeanne worked as a nurse until the age of 74. She was at Midland Memorial Hospital for 23 years and served as a nurse administrator in obstetrics, the emergency department, pharmacy and was a nursing supervisor. She opened We Care Home Health Agency in 1982 with many of her hospital colleagues and continued in the home health field until her retirement. Jeanne moved to Arlington in 2002. She had four children and 11 grandchildren. Jeanne was an avid bridge player and her favorite pastime was watching all University of Texas sporting events and going dancing.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Gilbert Joseph Gilles Jr.; her parents, Dr. and Mrs. Charles Bell Jones; her sister, Rosemary Langford; brother, Charles Bell Jones III; brother, John E. Jones, M.D., and wife, Marie; and niece, Mary Helen Langford.
Survivors: She is survived by her children, son, Stephen J. Gilles and wife, Stephanie, of Dallas and daughters, R. Michele Purgason and husband, Thomas, of Arlington, Kathleen J. Clymer of Plano and Susan G. Gilmore and husband, Willis "Trey," of Cypress; her brother, Frank H. Jones and wife, Sharon, of Wellington; her grandchildren, Emily, Sarah, Sophia and Gabriella Gilles, Nicholas, Ashley and Michael Purgason, Taylor Clymer and Willis "Will," Gilbert "Gibby" and Jackson Gilmore; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
