Karen Lou Milburn was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend to all. She left this world suddenly on September 21, 2022 at the age of 70. She leaves behind her husband, Jimmy Milburn and 6 children.
She was born to Byron and Mary Louise Nix on October 5, 1951 in Grand Prairie, Texas. She married Milford “Bing” McCrary at the age of 16 and together they had 3 children: Christy, Wade, and Kathy. She later married Jimmy Milburn on November 9,1996, and she gained 3 additional children by marriage: Jimmy Ray, Amy, and Casey. Karen loved all of her children, but she felt especially blessed by the many grandchildren and great-grandchildren she leaves behind.
Karen had a love for sewing and made special quilts for several of her family members. She would spend hours working, and sometimes re-working the squares until the quilt was ready to be gifted. She also had a love for travel and after she retired as a loan officer at age 65, she was able to live her dream. Karen and Jimmy purchased a RV and spent a few years traveling the United States. But, she also felt there is no place like home, and when the time came, she was ready to move back to Texas.
Karen leaves behind a legacy of faith, hope, and charity and was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She will be greatly missed by all who had the privilege to know her. A Committal Service is scheduled for 10am on October 5, 2022 at the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery at 2000 Mountain Creek Parkway, Dallas, Texas.
