Judith Celeste Ruderer, 88, loving wife, mother and grandmother passed away after a lengthy struggle with failing health. Her life was marked by love and unwavering faith in God. Her journey on earth has ended, but her spirit lives on in the love of God.
“Judy” as she was known by her family and friends was born January 27, 1937 in Detroit MI. She met her husband, James (Jim) R. Ruderer in Jackson MS while he was stationed at Greenville Air Force Base in 1953. They started their 71 year marriage in Aug 1954 and would find themselves living in various places throughout the South. Her pride and joy was raising 3 sons and eventually landed in Arlington TX where Judy nurtured and enthusiastically protected her high-energy boys through many years of school and sports with a few injuries along the way. She also worked with various North Arlington medical professionals and practices for over 25 years. In their retirement years, Judy and Jim lived in Holly Lake Ranch, Texas, Nashville, Tennessee, Tyler, Texas and Red Oak, Texas.
Judy had a passion for cooking delicious Southern, Cajun and German meals for family gatherings, friends and neighbors. She was a lover of all nature and had a green thumb and grew gorgeous flower gardens wherever she lived. Judy also adored every pet that shared her home through the years. She also loved to read, shop and visit tea rooms.
Judy cherished any time she could spend with her seven grandchildren and they each have fond memories of always being spoiled by their loving grandmother, especially when they visited her home. She wanted to spend time with them from early morning watching the deer and wildlife at her Holly Lake home to hours of game night playing Sequence, Mexican Train and Chicken Foot. Cruising the kids in her red convertible in between cooking their favorite dishes was her delight. From her top-notch German pancakes for breakfast, fried chicken and chicken & dumplings for dinner to her luscious Grammie milkshakes…. each of their favorites providing “Love in Every Bite”.
Judy was preceded in death by her parents, William and Nettie Batts; sister, Mildred (Millie) Binns; son, James R. Ruderer, Jr.; granddaughter, Anndrea Nicole Ruderer.
