Jon Curtis Trimble was called home to our Lord on Saturday, February 1, 2020. Born August 27, 1958 in Lima, Ohio to John and Mary Lee Trimble, Curt, to all who knew him, was the eldest son and typical big brother to William Bruce and Shari Lynn.
He met his wife, Bobbie Jo Young, at the age of 16 with their first date on Valentine’s day and married November 8, 1975. Although his plan was not to be a father that early in life he never wavered from his dream to have a large family that gathered and laughed often. In total, he had 4 children; Jon Robert, Crystal Nicole, Scott Curtis and Bradley Joseph that gave him his pass to start telling dad jokes at a young age and he never stopped, in fact he might be one of the founding father’s of dad jokes or at the least a master at sarcastic humor.
Curt was a man of faith and believed deeply in helping others. He spoke often about those that helped him early in life as a young husband and father which propelled him later in his life to always find a way to give back to the community. Curt & Bobbie Jo volunteered for Make-a-Wish foundation as well as gave personally through faith-based organizations like Embrace Grace. He never met a stranger and God used his outgoing personality and servant’s heart to lift the spirits of others and offer encouragement during their time of need.
Curt enjoyed history and personally challenging himself to answer the questions on Jeopardy before the contestants. Often, he would call friends and family members to give them a question from his favorite show knowing they could answer correctly. Curt was quite the scholar and took pride in never wanting to stop educating himself.
He proclaimed his greatest joy in life was knowing his kids and grandchildren were excelling in their dreams and his favorite seat was front row on the sidelines watching them.
Curt is survived by his loyal wife of 44 years, Bobbie Jo Trimble, his daughter and three sons: Crystal Trimble and fiancé Tim Brantley, Jon Trimble, Scott and Mary Trimble and Brad and Kelly Trimble. Other survivors include his three grandchildren: Cali Trimble, Taylor Trimble and Carter Trimble. He is also survived by his loving mother, Mary Lee Trimble and siblings: Bruce and Vickie Swisher-Trimble, and Shari and Glen Holliday.
He was preceded in death by his father, John Otis Trimble and his grandsons, Connor Shamus Trimble and Steven Wayne Robertson-Biers, Jr.
