He was one of my favorite people!  I loved the way he would make me laugh and tell great stories!  I know he is with Clyda Kay continuing the party!  He was a sweet sweet man!

Being able to call John "Pops" always meant a lot to me because my father was killed when I was eleven.  Spending time with John (and Clyda) made it impossible for me to understand why there were so many "in-law jokes," as I always enjoyed finally having a dad around.  Favorite memory of John?  That one's easy-at the lake house Adam said he heard something in the outside  storage room.  I told him to get the shotgun John had hidden in the house, open the storeroom door and get the hell out of the way.  Adam turned white as a sheet when I told him he was going to shortly be wearing a coon skin hat.  John laughed like hell and I later heard him tell Clyda that he knew for certain Julie wasn't marrying a sissy even if I was from California!   Rest easy, Pops, we're not about to forget you.

No matter what was going on my Papaw could always bring a smile to anyone's face. With his great big smile and bright and sunny personality, he will always be in our hearts.

I loved The Judge with all my heart.  You couldn't be in his presence and not have a smile on your face.  He treated his kids friends like we were his own.  His fierce love of Clyda was a lesson for us all.  His laugh was as contagious as his enthusiasm for life.  A Great Man, a Great Example.

Oh, what fond memories I have of this precious man.  Mr. Fry always greeted me with " Well, hi Darlin".  He always made me feel like family when I would go into his home.  From the time I was a toddler, a rebilious teenager, a young adult, and now, it always warmed my heart when I saw him.  He was a generous man; so kind and lovable.  I love how much he loved his family. I loved his laugh, and that grin.  He always had a sparkle in his eyes.  I have such wonderful childhood memories, because of him.  Jill, as you already know, you all were so blessed to have him as your Dad. Both he and Clyda raised a precious family.  I smile when I think of Mr Fry.  Knowing he was always down the street, and around the corner, gave me a sense of security.  I will miss Mr. Fry so very much.  He was one of a kind.  Love, his China girl.

My dear grandfather, you never failed to bring a smile to my face. Every time I got to see you, my face would light up. I know many others can say the same. I only wish that those times weren't so few and far between. Nevertheless, I could not have asked for a better grandfather. You always loved and supported me throughout my childhood and through my teenage years. Every time I talked to you, you seemed so proud of me and made me feel so loved. Nobody else has ever nor will ever give me that same feeling of accomplishment and joy to know that my grandfather was proud of me. I'm so happy that you always believed in me. I won't let you down.

How can I sum up a lifetime of joy! His smile and laughter will be what I miss most! Thank You, Daddy, for always believing in me! Even when I was wrong! You taught me to stand up for myself. The value of dignity and you word of honor is more precious than gold.  I will miss you every day for the rest of my life. I know you are happy with Momma and you are telling stories to all the ladies! Your Marie-zees

Johnny will always be one of my all time favorites.   His generous love of life will be something I will always remember.  His and Clyda"s upbringing of their kids was tremendous.  They can be very proud.  I will always miss Johnny's smile and his positive lust for life even when he was feeling sick.   I am very proud to be his son in law.

The hugs...Johnny gave the best - big bear hugs! I will miss those hugs.  When we were lucky enough to have Jinger join our family, I loved each Christmas that we would spend together, as two families.  It was the best part of the holiday season for me, as the house was full of laughter and love, which came from the Fry family! Our lives were richer for knowing you.  I know you are dancing with your beloved Clyda, and we all have a new angel watching over all of us.

I cannot thank you & Mom enough for being such amazing parents! What a wonderful childhood...our house was always full of Laughter, Chaos and Love! There were hard times, too, but we always worked through them~

We will always treasure our Memories from 4th of July Celebrations at Cedar Creek Lake, Sporting Events, Concerts (ZZ Top!!), our Weddings (from Arlington to Las Vegas to San Francisco!) and many, many wonderful Dinners with Family & Friends~ 
You and Mom taught us to be kind, confident, self-sufficient and caring for others.

You answered to many names~  Johnny, Big John, Brother, Coach Fry, Zeta Dad and Santa Claus to name a few...BUT I know your favorite was always Daddy!

I will miss you so much but I am at peace knowing you are reunited with Mom and you are now with your Beloved Bride, once again~

Papaw,
You were an amazing grandfather and you will be truly missed. I remember all the extravagant stories you would tell us that were just so far fetched they were actually believable! You always had a smile on your face and joy in your heart and your Santa Clause belly laugh was the best. I'm so thankful for all the help you gave to me and Adam and all the love as well. I will always love you papaw and will miss you so much, but I know you and Mamaw are together again looking down at us smiling and it is all "roovey groovy" as you would say. Love you.

Dear Daddy,

What can I say about the best Dad in the world!  I had such an amazing childhood thanks to you and Mom.  As I compare my childhood to other people that I know, I realize how truly blessed I was to have you as a father.  You were always at every event, performance, etc. that I participated in (unless you were working out of town).  Not only were you always present, you also made yourself available whenever I needed you  even into my adult years.  You always listened to my problems and helped me work through things, but never told me what to do.  You taught me to be self-sufficient and independent and that helped make me the person I am today.  I remember so many of the things you did and try to impart those same lessons to my own son.  You brought so much joy into the lives of so many and you will be missed every day.  I am so fortunate that I had you in my life for the past 18 months.  Conor will always be thankful for the time he had with his Papaw, too.  I am happy that you and Mom are now reunited and that I no longer have to worry about you.  You were one of a kind.  Love you always!

I have such wonderful memories of Papa Fry!  He was my "extra dad" for as long as I can remember, and I loved him with all of my heart.  Jill and I became the very best of friends when we were in 5th grade, and I spent countless hours at the Fry house during our years of growing up. Papa Fry was always so good to me, and fondly gave me the nickname Rebecca LaJune, so I could have a "J" in my name too! He and Mama Fry always made me feel like I was a part of their family, and I am forever grateful for the love they shared with me.  I am a better person because of the time they invested in me. Johnny was a favored classmate from high school and a close friend here at Arlington.  I will miss him almost as much as I miss his parents and other classmates that have gone on before him.  May God bless his arrival in heaven.

John was an enormous personality!!  He was my backseat road buddy on many trips to Reno to visit our grandchildren.  His southern drawl and heartfelt greetings would brighten even the darkest of days.  Shauna was blessed to have him in her life until his passing.  He went out on his own terms and I would expect nothing less.
He charmed and amused me with his tales of childhood, adolescence, and sparky work stories!  Thank you God for our time with this great child of yours!!  Mark and Cindy Selover

A Most Respected Man in the IBEW, Local 59/20, we first "tooled up" together just before Christmas in 1975. From that time forward, I never met anyone on any job more enjoyable to work with, or be around, than John. He will be missed by all of us. I just hope Heaven is ready for him!  Our thoughts and prayers go out to all his loved ones.

A Raging Rebel and a Movin Mav, with a laugh that would bring the house down.  This was a man's man, but oh how he loved his girls... Will miss you Papa Bear!

I will miss the man, who I called Big John. He was a man who lit up any room as only a Great Electrician can do. He did a great job raising his son, a great man and my best and lifelong friend, John W Fry, III (Bubba). Bubba was selfless & always had my back growing up as kids as well as the family man I am today. He and his sisters all got their values & work ethic from Big John, which we all are better off for having known this great individual. Your new life as a servant of God continues in His Heaven which has now taken over. Your memory lives on through your family & all of us those fortunate of enough to have you and your family come into our lives. Take care & we will miss you as big as the State of Texas is great.
