Joan Elizabeth Farrington, 85, passed away on August 30, 2015 in Arlington, Texas with Alzheimer’s. She was born Joan Holmes on August 14, 1930 in Pecos, Texas. Jodi attended University of North Texas where she met Floyd Booth Farrington, wearing a bright yellow skirt that Floyd has never forgotten. Floyd and Jodi married on January 26, 1951. They went on to build a family and settled in Arlington, Texas in 1963, in the same home where Floyd still lives today. She was loved and respected by all who knew her. She was very passionate about her husband and family. She loved dogs, and was a professional dog handler and judge for the American Kennel Club. She had her own business showing and training dogs, and teaching others to do the same.
Jodi was adored wife of 64 years to Floyd; devoted mother to Phil Farrington, Holly Flippin, and Darcy Farrington; loving “Nana” to granddaughters Bree Caddell, Dani Caddell, and Tiffani Farrington; and to great-grandsons Robert Adams and Anthony Caddell-Adams.
Private service for family and friends will be held at DFW National Cemetery on September 11th at 11:15am. Plants may be delivered to Moore Funeral Home, 1219 N Davis Drive, Arlington TX 76012, or donations made to the Alzheimer’s Foundation through the link below:
