Jo-Nell Yarbrough passed from this life after a brief illness on October 13, 2013 in Arlington Tx. She was born on August 18, 1928 to Livia and James Ryan. Jo-Nell lived and attended school in Quinlan TX where she graduated and then moved to Dallas to work as a telephone operator for Bell Telephone.
Jo-Nell met and married Ramon Maurice Yarbrough on January 4, 1948 and settled in Robert Lee TX where they raised 4 daughters. After retirement, the couple moved to Abilene TX where they lived until Maurice’s death in 2004. Following the death of Maurice, Jo-Nell moved to Arlington TX where she lived until her death.
Jo-Nell Yarbrough is survived by a brother, James Othel Ryan (her twin) of Dallas Tx and a sister, Ouida Ann Smith of Forney Tx. She is also survived by 2 daughters, Linda Waunice & husband, Tony Abalos of Arlington TX and LaVina Kay & Jay Rivera of Austin TX; 5 grandchildren, Kimberly & Benjamin Molter of Chandler AZ; Carson & Kara Clanton of Arlington TX; Tyler Abalos of Arlington; Melodie Willoughby of Carrollton Tx; Spencer Willoughby of San Marcos Tx. She is also survived by 4 great-grandchildren, Alex Willoughby and Anthony Willoughby of Carrollton Tx, Brayden Molter of Chandler AZ and Maclaine Clanton of Arlington TX. Jo-Nell is preceded in death by her husband, Ramon Maurice Yarbrough, 2 daughters, Wanda Dell and Wadren Nell, her parents, James and Livia Ryan.
Jo-Nell was a life-long Christian and member of the Baptist Church. Jo-Nell and her husband, Maurice Yarbrough were very devoted Christians raising their family in a Christian atmosphere and devoting their whole lives to leading others to Christ through their words, actions and their lives. Jo-Nell and Maurice worked for years assisting others through the work of the Texas Baptist Builders Association and the Disaster Relief Ministry of the Southern Baptists of Texas!!
Jo-Nell Ryan Yarbrough’s life will be celebrated at the North Park Baptist Church in Abilene TX on Friday, October 18 2013, with Bro Louis Johnson officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that any donations be made to Alpha Omega Hospice of Fort Worth TX or North Park Baptist Church in Abilene TX or Woods Chapel Baptist Church in Arlington TX.
