Jerry Roland Randall, age 75, went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on August 14, 2014 after a courageous battle with leukemia. Services will be Thursday, August 21, 2014 at Moore Funeral Home Chapel with Chaplain Denny Burris (Ret.) and Chaplain Elaine Maddox officiating. Burial will follow in Moore Memorial Gardens with full honors rendered by the Fire Department Honor Guard. The last Alarm Bell will be presented by the Dallas Retired Firefighters Association. The family will receive friends for visitation Wednesday 6:00 to 8:30 pm at the funeral home.
Jerry was born on November 5, 1938 in Lamkin, Texas to Troy and Terresa Randall. He was one of five siblings. He graduated in 1956 from Marquez High School where he played football. In 1963, he became a member of the Dallas Fire Department where he gave almost 28 years of service before retiring in 1990. He was a hunter and an avid fisherman, spending much of his time on the area lakes. He enjoyed listening to bluegrass music, spending time with his family, and watching the Dallas Cowboys.
He is preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Lavan and Gayle Randall.
Those left to mourn his passing include: his daughter Laury Guttman and husband Bill, daughter Linda Killebrew and husband Chris, 4 grandchildren: Brad Guttman (Liz), Cara Guttman, Justin Killebrew (Sarah), and Colton Killebrew, 2 great grandchildren: Rylan Guttman and Jude Killebrew, brother Dayle Randall (Ruby), sister Reitha Hullum (Ken), sister-in-law Betty Randall, many nieces, nephews, and their families, and his Dallas Fire Department family.
