Hello. I apologize to anyone here. He was an awesome man. He was my grandpa. He loved me and my sibling so much, and I know he would be really proud of all of us. Especially my mom, who he loved dearly. One of my favorite memories of him was my least favorite at the time. He threatened to hit me with the belt but ended up taking me to target instead. I was so scared all day. My mom and I had a good laugh after he died realizing that he never actually hit anyone with the belt, only threatened. He died so young... He truly deserved to live well into his 100's, but I still cry sometimes when I think about the fact that he will never get to see me grow up...

Jerry, you will be missed. If anything I learned from you was to stay strong and keep going. We disagreed on many but that did not stop you from accepting me as your friend/co-worker. You worked so hard and you never complained, instead you made a laugh out of anything. You had so much to do and I wish you could have done them this year like you wanted.I will never forget how great you were jerry. I pray for your family through this hard time. May you rest and play with your dogs up there, I know you missed them terribly. sincerely your annoying co-worker, thank you for being my friend.

To family and friends may you find comfort in God's word the Bible at Isaiah 61:1,2 it says "God will bind up the brokenhearted and comfort all those who mourn."

I am grateful for the relationship Jerry had with my son, Jerrad. Godspeed.

When I first met Jerry I didn't know how to take his humor but over the years I learned he was just being himself. He was direct but passionate about any task given to him. I know he will be missed by family and friends. May God give you the rest you deserve...

My heart was broken when I heard of my friend's passing.
I had the pleasure of working many years with Jerry at AT&T and Direct Energy.  Jerry is one of three important people in my career that I proudly attribute my leadership style to. I always admired his commitment to the work at hand and how he held others and himself accountable to high standards.  Jerry was tough but fair.  
I will cherish our long discussions on politics, family, work and Faith. 
Rest in Peace my friend. Thank you for being my brother in Christ.

My heart is saddened for the Kirby family. Jerry and I worked as peers on the same team at AT&T in a premier group that would later be known as AT&T Wireless, then later he saved my job at Direct Energy by moving me to his team. He was the quiet yet forceful boss who demanded those he supported be successful. He had quite the sense of humor setting up others to get the laugh. When he took vacation time and our team would get into a bind, we would always ask "what would JK do?". Until we see you again. Rest.

Jerry welcomed my family and I into our first class in the Arlington Chayon-Ryu Karate school, and trained with us for much of the next four years.  We had alot of good times and shared experiences including a poorly conceived warm up that included too many sit-ups and push-ups - a class we recalled fondly but agreed not to repeat.  In class, Jerry inspired all of us because he always gave 100%, whether it was warm-ups, basic movements, partner work, or forms.  While he may have been a little older than most of us, he was typically in better physical shape, and with his arms hardened like concrete one did not want to be on the end of one of his blocks!!  Jerry's quiet and focused demeanor was an inspiration for the rest of us to give a little more in our own training.  Jerry will very much be missed.

A great boss, a great man....Most Important, A GREAT MAN OF GOD!

I had the pleasure of working with Jerry for many years. First at AT&T, Alliance Data and lastly at Direct Energy.  Over the years, we worked closely in many different capacities, roles and various initiatives. There are many characteristics that I respected and admired about Jerry. To name a few, his wit, humor,  intelligence, analytical skills and most importantly  his love for his wife, daughter, son and grandchildren.  I am thankful for the time that we spent together as we progressed through our careers. Even to this day, Jerry is the standard that I measure others by in their ability to implement and roll out projects.  Jerry was the epitome of servant leadership. He enriched my life as he did many others. 

Well done, Jerry. Your work here is done!

Jerry, you were a good friend co-worker who stood for honesty and integrity, prayers for your family.

Jerry, you were one of the kindest, most honorable men I have ever known.  I wish I had told you that while you were here. 
I will pray for your family during this difficult time and always. You spoke often of your family and I am sure they know how much you love each of them. You always had a special sparkle in your eyes when you spoke of your wife and kids.  RIP, Jerry.

DeeAnna, Jessie, Julia, Caleb, Katelyn, and the rest of your family, my prayers are with you this week and will be in the coming days. As DeeAnna knows, I'm still missing my mama who died in 2014. I don't know if it will "get easier" over time for any of you or not--what I do know is that varies from person to person. I know that you will miss him forever. Do keep talking about him, do keep reminiscing. That will help.
