Jean May Robins Irwin

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm, Saturday (today) August 30, 2014 at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church of Garland.

Born in Iowa City on December 10, 1940 to late Mary Messaros, she is survived by her daughter Michelle Irwin-Bennight (Jesse) of Austin TX, her son John Irwin (B. C.) of Leland MS, her grandsons Sean Irwin and Leiton Irwin, her sisters Joan Mitchell (Don) of Amory MS and Joyce Daniels (Bob) of Rancho Palos Verde CA, and her brother George Robins of Maladar FL.

Jean graduated from Miami Jackson High School (Miami FL), received her RN from Lutheran Hospital Nursing Program, and was in the first class of Physician Assistants to graduate from Dallas. She went on to get her MBA from the University of Dallas. Jean started her career in 1974 as a PA at the Family Clinic of Garland and was chosen as their Administrator in April 1979. In 1989, she left this position to live in the Philippines. She returned in 1991. In April 1994, a merger allowed her to move to the position of CEO for Family Health Care Associates where she remained until her passing.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Bonnie J. Addario Lung Cancer Foundation and to the Gloria Dei Lutheran Church (Beltline Rd) are greatly appreciated by the family.
